Description

The Casa Matemática Oaxaca (CMO) will host the "High Dimensional Probability" workshop from May 28th to June 2nd, 2017.

Modern probability theory often deals with high dimensional structures. In order to analyze them
a variety of tools was developed over the years that turned out to be useful not only in probability
theory itself, but in various others areas of mathematics, statistics and computer science.

The aim of this workshop is to bring together leading experts in high dimensional probability and
a number of related areas to discuss the recent progress in the subject, present the major open
problems and questions, deepen contacts between several different communities with common research
interests and attract the attention of young researchers.

The Casa Matemática Oaxaca (CMO) in Mexico, and the Banff International Research Station for Mathematical Innovation and Discovery (BIRS) in Banff, are collaborative Canada-US-Mexico ventures that provide an environment for creative interaction as well as the exchange of ideas, knowledge, and methods within the Mathematical Sciences, with related disciplines and with industry.

The research station in Banff is supported by Canada's Natural Science and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), Alberta's Advanced Education and Technology, and Mexico's Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología (CONACYT). The research station in Oaxaca is funded by CONACYT.
