The Banff International Research Station will host the "Arithmetic Aspects of Explicit Moduli Problems" workshop from May 28th to June 2nd, 2017.





Much of mathematics concerns classification of objects. This point of view introduces striking perspectives even in familiar settings. For example, when classifying lines on the plane, we can view these lines as points on another plane! Number Theory is a subject which focuses on the properties of integers. Surprisingly, even when one is concerned with understanding integers, one encounters formidable classification problems which are referred to as 'moduli problems'. This workshop will bring together experts and young scholars to stimulate and guide research into moduli problems in number theory.

an environment for creative interaction as well as the exchange of ideas, knowledge, and methods within the Mathematical Sciences, with related disc
